1977 42' Grand Banks
Careful attention to detail was spent resurecting this 1977 Grand Banks, which we found heading from Charleston to Puerto Rico in 1999. This restoration demonstrates the scope of services offered at Fairview Marina.
The teak decks were removed. We made custom fiberglass decks and hatches. We replaced old hardware with new custom stainless steel hand rails and windshield. We built a georgous custom teak bow pulpit. We worked and varnished the orginal teak transom. A beautiful bimini top was installed by Chris Ford. The entire interior was refinished: including new headliners - Refinished cabin sole - Custom galley table - much more.
Here is an example of a fiberglass repair performed at Fairview Marina. We hauled this sail boat out for winter storage. Whenever a boat is hauled out of the water. the bottom is inspected. In this case the rudder had delaminated and was full of water. The office immediately contacted the customer to notify him of the problem.
Instead of ordering a new rudder, we peeled, recored, and relaminated the existing rudder.
Please scroll through this album as is shows much of the process.
1975 Cape Dory Typhoon
This Cape Dory is currently under restoration as time allows. We purchased it from a student off to Harvard Medical School. This beautiful little piece of history deserved a second chance.
We still have to install teak trims and rig this old girl. We will up date pictures as they come.
